Ingredients:

-Shaljam (Turnips) 1 kg

-Himalayan pink salt 1 tsp

-Water 2 Cups

-Cooking oil ¼ Cup

-Zeera (Cumin seeds) 1 tsp

-Adrak lehsan (Ginger garlic) crushed 1 tbs

-Hari mirch (Green chilli) chopped 1 tbs

-Pyaz (Onion) chopped 2 medium

-Tamatar (Tomatoes) finely chopped 2 medium

-Dhania powder (Coriander powder) 2 tsp

-Kali mirch (Black pepper) crushed ½ tsp

-Lal mirch powder (Red chilli powder) 1 tsp or to taste

-Haldi powder (Turmeric powder) ½ tsp

-Matar (Peas) ½ Cup

-Himalayan pink salt ½ tsp or to taste

-Hara dhania (Fresh coriander) chopped handful

-Garam masala powder ½ tsp

-Hari mirch (Green chilli) sliced

-Hara dhania (Fresh coriander) chopped

 

Directions:

-Peel turnips & cut into small pieces.

-In a saucepan,add turnips,pink salt,water,mix well & bring it to boil,cover & steam cook on low flame until turnips are tender (30 minutes) & water dries up.

-Turn off the flame,mash well with the help of masher & set aside.

-In a wok,add cooking oil,cumin seeds,ginger garlic crushed,green chilli & sauté for 1-2 minutes.

-Add onion,mix well & cook on medium flame for 4-5 minutes.

-Add tomatoes,coriander powder,black pepper crushed,red chilli powder,turmeric powder,peas & mix well,cover & cook on medium flame for 6-8 minutes.

-Add cooked turnip,pink salt,fresh coriander & mix well,cover & cook on low flame until oil separates (10-12 minutes).

-Add garam masala powder & mix well.

-Garnish with green chilli,fresh coriander & serve!
