Chicken Cigars/Pencil Sticks

These quick make and freeze chicken pencil sticks are loved by both kids and adults. Crunchy from outside and chicken filling on the inside. Perfect for munching any time. Methods for air fryer and deep frying both available. #HappyCookingToYou #FoodFusion

Ingredients:

  • Boneless chicken 250g
  • Adrak lehsan paste (Ginger garlic paste) 1 tsp
  • Dhania powder (Coriander powder) ½ tsp
  • Lal mirch powder (Red chilli powder) ½ tsp or to taste
  • Namak (Salt) ½ tsp or to taste
  • Zeera powder (Cumin powder) ½ tsp
  • Paprika powder ½ tsp
  • Haldi powder (Turmeric powder) 1 pinch or as required
  • Anda (Egg) 1
  • Lemon juice 1 tsp
  • Maida (All-purpose flour) 2 tbs
  • Water 2-3 tbs
  • Roll patti/Manda patti as required
  • Cooking oil for frying

Directions:

In a chopper,add chicken,ginger garlic paste,coriander powder,red chilli powder,salt,cumin powder, paprika powder,turmeric powder,egg,lemon juice & chop well.

Add more egg if consistency is thick.

Transfer the mixture to a piping bag & set aside.

In a small bowl,add all-purpose flour,water & mix well.Flour slurry is ready!

Take roll patti/manda patti,fold & cut with the help of knife.

Roll out manda patti/roll patti with the help of a wooden pencil/chopstick,apply flour slurry at the end & seal properly.

Carefully remove thick wooden skewer/chopstick & prepare all the cigars similarly (makes 28-30).

Now fill the cigars with prepared chicken filling.

Can be stored for up to 1 month in freezer.

Method 1: Air-Fry

Brush oil & air fry at 180C for 10 minutes.

Method 2: Deep Fry

In a wok,heat cooking oil (150C) and fry on medium flame until golden & crispy.

Serve with tomato ketchup!
