Ingredients:

Prepare Bhallay (Dumplings):

-Mash daal (White lentil gram) 1 & ½ Cup (soaked for 2-4 hours)

-Hara dhania (Fresh coriander) ½ bunch

-Adrak (Ginger) sliced 2-inch piece

-Lehsan (Garlic) 5-6 cloves

-Hari mirch (Green chilli) 5-6

-Curry patta (Curry leaves) 18-20

-Himalayan pink salt 1 tsp or to taste

-Water ¼ Cup or as required

-Baking soda ½ tsp

-Cooking oil for frying

-Water as required

-Dahi (Yogurt) whisked 3 tbs

-Himalayan pink salt ½ tsp

Prepare Coconut Dahi:

-Dahi (Yogurt) 750g

-Kali mirch powder (Black pepper powder) ½ tsp

-Himalayan pink salt ½ tsp or to taste

-Sugar 4-5 tbs or to taste

-Nariyal (Fresh coconut) grated 4-5 tbs

Prepare Tarka:

-Cooking oil 3-4 tbs

-Sukhi lal mirch (Dried red chilli) 4-5

-Zeera (Cumin seeds) 1 tsp

-Raidana (Mustard seeds) Black ½ tsp

-Curry patta (Curry leaves) 12-15

-Hara dhania (Fresh coriander) chopped 1-2 tbs

-Kashmiri lal mirch (Kashmiri red chilli) powder

-Gajar (Carrot) grated

-Hara dhania (Fresh coriander) chopped

-Chaat masala

 

Directions:

Prepare Bhallay (Dumplings):

-In a grinder,add white lentil gram,fresh coriander,ginger,garlic,green chillies,curry leaves,pink salt & blend the mixture until its smooth.

-Gradually add water & grind well to make a thick paste.

-Take out in a bowl,add baking soda & whisk well for 2-3 minutes.

Note: To check the consistency of batter,drop 1 tsp of batter in water,if it sinks,beat again for 1-2 minutes.If batter floats,its ready to use.

-Now take a piece of baking paper & apply water.

-Wet hand with water,take a small portion of batter,place it on the paper & make a donut shape with a hole in the center.

Option # 1: Frying

-In a wok,heat cooking oil & fry on low flame until golden (makes 14-15).

Option # 2: Air Frying

-Air fry in preheated air fryer at 180°C for 14-15 minutes.

Storage:

-Let them cool completely.

-Fried bhallay (dumplings) can be stored in a zip lock bag for up to 1 month in freezer.

-In a large dish,add water,yogurt,pink salt & mix well.

-Add fried or air fried bhallay & let them soak for 15 minutes then take out from water & squeeze gently to remove excess water.

Prepare Coconut Dahi:

-In a bowl,add yogurt,black pepper powder,pink salt,sugar,fresh coconut & whisk well.

-In a serving dish,place soaked bhallay & add pour prepared coconut dahi.

Prepare Tarka:

-In a small frying pan,add cooking oil,dried red chillies,cumin seeds,black mustard seeds,curry leaves, fresh coriander & mix well.

-Now pour prepared tarka on dahi baray.

-Sprinkle kashmiri red chilli powder & garnish with carrot,fresh coriander,chaat masala & serve!
