Homemade Tutti Frutti with Watermelon Rind

Ingredients:

-Tarbooz ka chilka (Watermelon rind) as required

-Boiling water as required

-Sugar 3 Cups

-Water 1 & ½ Cup

-Kewra essence few drops

-Red food color as required

-Green food color as required

-Orange food color as required

 

Directions:

-Peel watermelon rind with the help of peeler.

-Cut white part into small cubes & set aside (approx. ½ kg).

-In a pot,add water & bring it to boil.

-Add watermelon cubes & bring it to boil,cover & cook on medium flame for 10-12 minutes then strain & set aside.

-In a pot,add sugar, water,mix well & cook until sugar is dissolved.

-Add kewra essence,boiled watermelon cubes,mix well,bring it to boil,cover & cook on low flame for 20-25 minutes.

-Divide prepared watermelon cubes in 3 separate bowls.

-Add red food color,green food color & orange food color in each bowls respectively,mix well & allow to soak for 5-6 hours or overnight.

-Drain excess liquid & let it air dry for few hours.

-Once the tutti-frutti dries off completely it will not be sticky,mix the colors together.

-Can be stored in an airtight container for up to 6 months (shelf life) or refrigerate until use.
