Daal Kachori

Ingredients:

  • Cooking oil 2-3 tbs
  • Zeera (Cumin seeds) ½ tbs
  • Saunf (Fennel seeds) crushed 1 tsp
  • Sabut dhania (Coriander seeds) crushed 1 tbs
  • Lehsan (Garlic) chopped 1 tbs
  • Hari mirch (Green chilli) finely chopped 2 tbs
  • Chaat masala 1 tsp
  • Lal mirch powder (Red chilli powder) ½ tbs or to taste
  • Namak (Salt) 1 tsp or to taste
  • Haldee powder (Turmeric powder) ½ tsp
  • Besan (Gram flour) 4-5 tbs
  • Mong daal (Yellow lentil) 1 Cup (soaked & boiled)
  • Hara dhania (Fresh coriander) chopped 2 tbs
  • Mon salwa Plain paratha 10-12
  • Cooking oil for frying

Directions:

In a wok,add cooking oil,cumin seeds,fennel seeds,coriander seeds,garlic and mix well for a minute.

Add green chilli and mix well.

Add chaat masala,red chilli powder,salt and turmeric powder,mix well and cook for 1 minute.

Add gram flour,mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.

Add boiled yellow lentil,fresh coriander,mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.

Let it cool.

Sprinkle dry flour on working surface,place plain paratha and fold all four sides to make a square shape.

Add prepared lentil filling (2 tbs) then fold & seal all the edges to make a kachori (makes 10-12).

In a wok,heat cooking oil and fry kachori on medium low flame until crispy & golden brown.

Serve with tomato ketchup!
