Orange Trifle

For all the men out there, here is an Orange Trifle recipe you can make to surprise your family. We are happy that Ozair has joined the food fusion family and has shared his family recipe with us. Ozair works for an ad agency and is a passionate writer/blogger, but his love for cooking brought him to Food Fusion. We shall see more from him soon.

  • Anday (Eggs) 2
  • Vanilla essence ¼ tsp
  • Custard powder 3 tbs heaped (vanilla flavor)
  • Doodh (Milk) 2-3 tbs
  • Doodh (Milk) 2 & ½ Cups
  • Pound Cake/Plain cake 1
  • Orange juice as required  
  • Cream 200 ml
  • Pissi hoye cheeni (Powdered sugar) 2 tbs
  • Pani (Water) ½ Cup
  • Cheeni (Sugar) 1 Cup
  • Orange slices


In bowl,add eggs,vanilla essence and beat well.

In custard powder,add milk,whisk well add it in bowl.

Add milk,beat until well combined & set aside.

Cut pound/plain cake into small cubes & set aside.

In serving dish,add cake cubes and press gently then pour orange juice (soak in orange juice) & set aside.

In bowl,add cream and beat until fluffy.

Add powdered sugar,beat again and refrigerate until use.

In wok,add water and sugar,mix well and cook on medium low flame until caramelized and mix continuously.

Now add egg mixture,mix continuously and cook on low flame until thickens (approx.12-15 minutes).

Immediately pour in a serving dish and let it cool down.

In serving dish,add whipped cream and decorate with orange slices.

Refrigerate until chilled & serve!
