Instant Mong Daal Halwa

Ingredients:

  • Mong daal (Yellow lentil) 1 & ½ Cup (soaked for 15 minutes)
  • Ghee 1 tbs
  • Badam (Almonds) chopped 2-3 tbs
  • Pista (Pistachios) chopped 2-3 tbs
  • Kishmish (Raisins) 2 tbs
  • Khoya 100g
  • Ghee ¾ Cup
  • akola Full Cream Milk 1 litre
  • Sugar ¾ Cup or to taste
  • Elaichi powder (Cardamom powder) 1 tsp
  • Badam (Almonds) sliced
  • Pista (Pistachios) sliced
  • Chandi warq (Edible silver leaves)

Directions:

In a frying pan,add yellow lentil & dry roast on low flame for 7-8 minutes or until lentil is dry.

Let it cool completely.

In spice mixer,add roasted yellow lentil and grind to make a powder & set aside.

In a frying pan,add ghee & let it melt.

Add almonds,pistachios,raisins & fry for 1-2 minutes & set aside.

In the same frying pan,add khoya,mix well & cook on low flame for 1-2 minutes & set aside.

In a wok,add ghee & let it melt.

Add ground yellow lentil,mix well & cook on medium flame for 10-12 minutes or until it turns golden brown & stir continuously.

Add milk,mix continuously & cook on medium flame until milk dries up & thickens (40-45 minutes).

Add sugar,cardamom powder,mix well & cook on medium flame until sugar melts (4-5 minutes).

Add cooked khoya,fried nuts,mix well & cook on low flame for 8-10 minutes.

Turn off the flame & cover for 2-3 minutes.

Garnish with almonds,pistcahios,edible silver leaf & serve!
