Falsa Chutney:

  • Falsay (Grewia) ½ kg
  • Water 2 & ½ Cups or as required
  • Cooking oil 3-4 tbs
  • Lehsan (Garlic) chopped 2 cloves
  • Raidana (Mustard seeds) ½ tsp
  • Curry patta (Curry leaves) 10-12
  • Gur (Jaggery) ½ Cup or to taste
  • Namak (Salt) ¼ tsp or to taste
  • Zeera powder (Cumin powder) ½ tsp
  • Kala namak (Black salt) ¼ tsp
  • Lal mirch powder (Red chilli powder) 1 tsp or to taste
  • Sonth powder (Ginger powder) ½ tsp

Kayri & Nariyal Chutney:

  • Kayri (Raw mangoes) cubes 1 Cup
  • Nariyal (Fresh coconut) small cubes 1 Cup
  • Lehsan (Garlic) clove 1
  • Hari mirch (Green chillies) 5-6
  • Curry patta (Curry leaves) 8-10
  • Hara dhania (Fresh coriander) ¼ Cup
  • Podina (Mint leaves) ¼ Cup
  • Namak (Salt) ½ tsp or to taste
  • Water 3-4 tbs or as required
  • Nariyal (Fresh coconut) grated
  • Curry patta (Curry leaves)


Falsa Chutney:

In a pot,add grewia,water & bring it to boil,cover & cook on medium flame for 15 minutes (1/2 cup water should be left).

Turn off the flame & mash well with the help of masher then strain & set aside.

In a pot,add cooking oil,garlic and mix well.

Add mustard seeds,curry leaves and mix well.

Add falsa puree and mix well.

Add jaggery,salt,cumin seeds,black salt,red chilli powder,dried ginger powder,mix well and cook until oil separates (1-2 minutes).

Can be stored in refrigerator for 3-4 days.

Kayri & Nariyal Chutney:

In blender,add raw mango,fresh coconut,garlic,green chillies,curry leaves,fresh coriander,mint leaves,salt,water & blend well.

Garnish with fresh coconut,curry leaves & serve!

Can be stored in refrigerator for 3-4 days.
